Ok, so here's the big schedule:
8th - leave Rochester 11:45 am
9th - Arrive Rome 8:25 am (time zone changes aren't so nice!) - night in Rome
10th-14th - Train south to Sorrento - stay there as home base to explore Pompeii, Amalfi coast
14th - Ferry from Sorrento to Capri - night in Capri
15th - Ferry back to Sorrento, pick up car, drive to Orvietto in Tuscany/Umbria to spend night
16th - Drive to Siena, Tuscany - spend night there
17th-19th - Drive to Cinque Terre and stay in Vernazza
19th-22nd - Train to Venice, where we stay until the 22nd
22-23 - Train to Rome, stay there until 24th
24th - fly back home
Ambitious? Crazy? Probably.
